Hi! My name is Janis Crawford. I am a Ph.D. in Depth Psychology with an emphasis in Psychotherapy, M.A. in Clinical Humanistic Psychology, B.A. in Psychology, a Licensed Professional Counselor (L.P.C), and an Approved Clinical Supervisor (A.C.S.). I have been working as a Clinical Supervisor for over a decade and truly enjoy the heart-driven service of helping others become LPCs.

During my higher education toward Psychotherapy at Michigain State University, I was exposed to the criminal justice system and began to imagine myself influencing greater networks within society. I was no longer satisfied with the image of me in a room alone with one person; I wanted to make a greater impact. My career quickly evolved from group work as a counselor at the Michigan Parole Camp, to program director of my own creation: Treating Addiction & Criminal Thinking (AKA the TACT Program) for the Wyoming Department of Corrections.  The program lives on, though I moved on, to work as the Clinical Supervisor of the Detox and Stabilization Unit at Providence Hospital in Portland, OR.  After nearly two decades of working in prisons and hospitals, I was nudged out of the nest to try my wings in private practice.

As I deliberated over my small business plan, I recognized the opportunity to design my future career. Why not have it all? My childhood dreams and skill development have now come together.  I am an invisible listener who speaks the fewest words with the greatest influence as a psychotherapist.  I am on stage as an adult educator, imparting wisdom and promoting evidence-based practice in the field.  I coordinate programs, projects, and professional development plans; a mage in this epic adventure of life.

I can’t wait to work with you on your path to becoming an LPC and finding your way in this incredible field, too!
